Over the years, relevant design &construction standards of healthcare facilities have been drawn up or revised in China and other countries. In order to discuss healthcare environment control idea (i.e. control strategy, measure and experience) and improve indoor air quality control technology, the 1st International Seminar on Healthcare Environment Control will take place in Shanghai, China from October 20 to October 21, 2014. Researchers, educators, engineers, and government officials involved in the general areas of healthcare facility will gather together to disseminate their latest research results and exchange views on the trends in healthcare environment control. Leading international researchers, including editor of US and Germanyrelevantstandard, GB 50346 and some other relevant standards of healthcare facilities in China, will serve as tutorial and keynote speakers. The topics of interest include, but not limited to the following:

- Healthcare environment control with high efficiency, energy saving, and sustainability technology

- Similarities and differences between foreign healthcare facilities standards and China standards

- Current situation of domestic healthcare environmental pollution

- Revised standard on hospital clean operating department in China, i.e. GB 50333-2013

- Evaluation standard for green hospital buildings, drawn up recently in China

- New idea and technology of healthcare environment control

- Indoor environment detection in view of infection control

- Energy saving measures employed in healthcare facilities

- Indoor PM2.5 control in hospital buildings

- Development and application of medical equipment, engineering facilities, and relevant products
